Together with project developer Futurn, Brico, a subsidiary of Maxeda DIY Group, is set to work on the realization of a new head office in Brussels. The brand new building will be built on the West Gate business park in Groot-Bijgaarden. The 5,043 m² property will accommodate 264 workplaces, a retail lab and warehouse. The new head office will be a sustainable BEN (nearly energy-neutral) building, it will also be equipped with solar panels, the rainwater will be reused as much as possible and the office spaces will be heated by climate ceilings. This results in savings of € 25,000 per year in terms of consumption and maintenance. There is also a lot of focus on modular and circular construction, all materials are carefully chosen so that they can be reused or recycled as much as possible.
The new head office is expected to be ready for use in 2022. Read here the full press release (in Dutch) for more information.
