Praxis Almere Haven: the first energy neutral DIY store in the Netherlands

On October 26, Praxis Almere Haven was opened by council member of Almere Maaike Veeningen and Managing Director of Praxis Corine Duchenne. Praxis Almere Haven is the first energy neutral DIY store in the Netherlands. The old building has been teared down and the new store is equipped with, among other things, a heat pump and solar panels. As a result, it produces more energy than it consumes and is prepared for the future. The concept of the store, the Phygital concept, is also focused on the future. Due to the various digital tools in the store, customers experience the benefits of the physical store as well as online. In addition, in collaboration with OG Clean Fuels, fast chargers for electric cars will be placed at the store at a later date.

In the new store, among other things, more seasonal sales areas have been created and a wider range of lighting, paint and floors has been introduced. The store has also been enlarged from 2,581 m² to 3,399 m². Customers can now find everything for the complete DIY job here and no longer have to go to stores in the surrounding cities.
