Praxis introduces dementia-friendly program

In December 2018, Praxis introduced the national retail project Together Dementia Friendly, to which Praxis contributes. This theme was put in the picture through flyers, posters and an e-learning session at the Praxis Academy. The reasoning behind it is that more and more people in the Netherlands have dementia and so shop staff are also increasingly having to deal with this. The objective of this project is to teach shop staff how to deal with demented customers so we can help these customers to remain independent for longer. A training programme has also been started in which the first training session took place in December for the employees of Praxis Almere (Praxis Almere-Stad, Praxis Almere-Buiten and Praxis Almere-Haven). The participating stores received a framed certificate with 'dementia friendly store' and a sticker to put on the door. That way, everyone can see that Praxis is committed to a dementia-friendly society.
