Sustainable wood in stores

Being the largest DIY chain in the Benelux, Maxeda DIY Group plays an important role in trading wood and wood-containing products. Maxeda feels responsible for the continuity of natural resources and has set itself the target that by 2020 95% of its wood and wood-containing products should be certified. The criteria observed for sustainable wood are the certifications of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), with the FSC as the preferred choice. Maxeda is a member of both FSC the Netherlands and Belgium and participates actively in the network meetings. With today 86% certified wood in the stores, the target for 2020 should certainly be achieved.
