More than 88% certified wood in stores

Wood is an important product in the do-it-yourself market. As the largest DIY chain in the Benelux, Maxeda DIY Group therefore plays an important role in the sale of wood and wooden products. Maxeda feels responsible for the continuity of natural raw materials and sustainably managed forests. As set out in the Maxeda wood policy, Maxeda aims to have more than 95% of the wood and wooden products certified in 2020.

The two certifications Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) are both regarded as acceptable criteria for sustainable forest management. Maxeda is a member of both the Dutch and Belgian branches of the FSC and takes an active part in the network meetings.

In 2019, Maxeda stores had 88% of their wood shown to be certified. Most of the wood is sold in the categories Construction (86% certified) and Garden (98% certified).
